J. Grover Thomas, Jr.

J. Grover Thomas Jr. is Chairman of Trustmark Mutual Holding Company and has more than two decades of leadership experience in the insurance industry. Headquartered in Lake Forest, Ill., Trustmark has 2,700 employees, more than $1.9 billion in assets. Its subsidiaries and operating divisions include Trustmark Life Insurance Company, Trustmark Group Insurance, CoreSource, Starmark, MultiBenefit Services and Trustmark Voluntary Benefit Solutions.

A native of Kingman, Ariz., Thomas holds a bachelors degree from Briar Cliff College and an MBA from Georgia State University, which honored him with its Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award in 1997. Thomas is Chairman Elect of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and the Medical Information Board, and currently serves on the board of the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He is also a trustee of the Georgia State University Foundation and a past board member of the Illinois Life Insurance Council and the Georgia Guaranty Association. In 2003, Thomas was named to the Ambassadors Council of Freedom from Hunger.
