Eligibility

Nominated papers are open and not limited to U.S. actuaries. Self- nominations are also encouraged. Papers will be judged on appropriateness of subject material, timeliness of topic, originality, and practical application to employee benefits. Papers must have been published within the past two years and only submitted once.

Award

  • $1,000 (U.S.)
  • Plaque of Recognition
  • Waiver of registration fee for the Annual Meeting of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries where and in the yearthe award is presented.
  • Award may or may not be given annually. It will be based on the eligibility and quality of nominations received each year as determined by the Hanson Prize Committee.

Selection Process

Winning paper(s) are selected by the Papers Committee of the Conference. Winner will be contacted by The Actuarial Foundation in the summer. Awarding will be based on the eligibility and quality of nominations received each year. There is no guarantee an annual award will be made.

Deadline

Nominations must be received by March 15 each year.
