SCHAUMBURG, IL
Helen Keller Jr. High School
The Actuarial Foundation’s Advancing Student Achievement (ASA) program has an immediate need for volunteer female actuarial mentors for a middle school in Schaumburg. We are contacting you in hopes that you would consider joining their team as a volunteer mentor. As a volunteer mentor and role model, you will work with school faculty at Helen Keller Jr. High School in their after school G.E.M.S. Club (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science). This program was designed to develop girls’ interest and skills in engineering and math.
This is a unique opportunity for you to make a tremendous difference in the lives of girls by volunteering just a few hours a month. Your involvement will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their math skills as well as create a love of math. The Club meets from 2:20-4:00 pm on Tuesdays. Even if you can only commit to one session, they would love to have you!
