Topics Covered
Using Setting the Stage with Geometry, your students will learn and reinforce these geometry skills:
- Measuring perimeter and area of 2D shapes;
- Measuring surface area of 3D shapes; and
- Measuring volume of 3D shapes.
Objectives
Students will understand formulas used to measure the:
- Perimeter and area of these basic two-dimensional shapes: rectangles, circles and triangles;
- Surface area of these basic three-dimensional shapes: rectangular prism, cylinder and square pyramid; and
- Volume of these basic three-dimensional shapes: rectangular prism, cylinder and square pyramid.
Setting the Stage with Geometry is aligned with NCTM standards.
