About The Power of Probability

The Power of Probability is the sixth installment in The Actuarial Foundation's "Expect the Unexpected WIth Math®" series and is aligned with National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Common Core State Standards (pdf).

This program is designed to supplement existing instruction and includes:

• Strategies to identify favorable and total outcomes;
• Calculating simple probability;
• Sampling and proportions;
• Calculating compound probability; and
• Using probability concepts to solve real-world
  problems.
